Sub-Zero Repair New England Call (781) 371-8990

Contact

Two ways in, and neither is a form.

Call and describe the fault, or book a slot on the booking page. Both reach the same dispatch list; the phone is quicker if the cabinet is already warm.

Have this ready

  • The model and serial number from the rating plate — inside the fresh-food compartment on most cabinets, low on the frame on a column.
  • What the cabinet is doing, in your own words, and roughly when it started.
  • Whether anything has changed recently: a power cut, a kitchen refit, a new panel or handle.
  • How the appliance gets reached — a stair, a narrow hall, a door that has to come off its hinges.

Questions

Asked on the phone, most weeks.

What does the $95 service call cover?

The visit and a full diagnosis of the fault, including the readings that identify it. If you approve the repair, the $95 comes off the total rather than being added to it.

Do you work on wine cabinets as well as refrigerators?

Yes. Undercounter, tall and integrated wine storage runs the same kind of sealed system as a fresh-food cabinet, with a tighter temperature band and usually two zones to keep apart.

My refrigerator is cold but the freezer is not. Is that one fault or two?

Usually one. On a single-evaporator cabinet the freezer is cooled directly and the fresh-food side gets a share of that air, so a defrost or evaporator-fan fault shows up in the freezer first and the fresh-food compartment second.

Which parts do you fit?

Factory-approved parts wherever the platform still has them, and equivalents from the original component makers where it does not. Whichever it is, it is named on the estimate before it is fitted.

How far out do you go?

Medford, Davis Square, Arlington Heights, Ashmont are the four we name, but the coverage runs across the inner metro on either side of the river. Call and describe where you are.

Are you connected to the manufacturer?

No. This is an independent repair business, not affiliated with Sub-Zero or any manufacturer. Anything still inside a manufacturer's own coverage should go through their service line instead.

From the book

What people said afterwards.

5 average across 733 reviews

  • Kitchen went into the old pantry and there is barely an inch behind the cabinet. Warm air was recirculating over the coil because the toe kick vent was packed with lint. Cleared out and it has held temperature since.

    Colm B.Davis Square

  • The machine in our back hall stopped mid cycle and sat there with slush in the bin. A stuck water pump and a filthy condenser between them, and neither would have got that far with a filter change. Cleaned out, and he wrote the schedule down for me.

    Malcolm J.Arlington Heights

  • Short cycling every few minutes, so the bottles never settled. A control sensor had drifted against the cabinet wall and was reading cold. Repositioned, condenser cleaned.

    Simone U.Ashmont

Describe what it is doing. We will tell you what that usually means.

A call costs nothing. A visit is a flat $95, and that comes off the bill the moment you approve the repair.
